3.42 - "Solid"

Taken at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah with a Nikon Z6ii, and 24-70 f/2.8 S-series lens.

We used three GT200 flashes. One of them was used with a MagSphere + MagGrid and 1/2 CTO gel overhead to light the couple. The other two used a 1/2 CTO gel and were placed in the back corners to add a bit of light to the ground.

Edited with my own custom preset in Lightroom.

Nikon Z6ii with a 24/70 f/2.8 S-Series lens.
f/2.8, ISO 2500, and 13 second shutter.

I really wanted to give this shot 5 stars because it is a great image. The lighting, unfortunately doesn't work quite as well as it should with such a spectacular backdrop. Maybe if you cloned out the shadows they're casting, the light would work better.

I'm sure setting up the lights was probably difficult, but I think a soft rim light from behind them, along with moving the key light more towards center would have give the image a more natural looking feel, as if the stars and the milky way were lighting them; as opposed to artificial light.

Excellent concept, though, and still a gorgeous image.
