Although it may not seem like unique lighting, it is unique because I "painted" in all the light in post-processing. The photo was taken in old Dubai around noon (RAW file can be found here https://imgur.com/vw19GLe)
I used this technique originated by Alfred Hitchcock to fake a nightscene using a day-lit photo by underexposing the photo by 3 stops, taking the color temp way over to the blues, and then using local brushes and radial gradients to "paint" back the light of the original exposure so that it appears to be artificial light.

I'm curious about this technique you mentioned, do you mean 'day-for-night' photography by it or do you refer to the technique of painting back the light?
Also, do you happen to know which Hitchcock film this technique was used in?
Ya i guess its called the "day-for-night" in cinematography, but with video you can't paint back the light like you can in a photo.
To be honest, i learned it from Serge Ramelli on Youtube, but after doing a little research now, i can't actually find anything on the internet connecting the technique to Hitchcock lol.
