The image shows interference of white light on a thin soap film. Since white light consists of multiple wavelengths, different colors will undergo constructive or destructive interference at different film thicknesses and leads to the formation of colorful patterns. This is because the phase difference between the reflected lightwaves depends on the wavelength of the light and the thickness of the film. These patterns change with the angle of viewing or as the film changes thickness due to gravity or evaporation.
