2.82 - "Solid"

This is Papper. An old tiny fishing village, now summer cabins. Situated on Hvaler islands in south-east Norway, very close to my home, and I have been there numerous times. One of my favourite photo locations. These islands are photographed best in winter when the sun is setting in the ocean, and less crowded.
Taken in late February-19 with evening sunset(5:30PM). I used my iPhone X on a tripod, with 3sec timer, first edit in Lr mobile with further edits in LrC or PS if needed.

Spectacular color! Also, super impressed that the highlights in the sunset weren't blown by your iPhone X. The bright fringes around the cloud edges closest to the sun are perfectly discernible, yet still a valid, attractive shade of orange yellow!

This is a phenomenal shot in its own right, but *especially* for that camera. Even the small bright unavoidably blown region for the disc of the sun stayed round! And there's no banding... a hint of noise in the corners of the sky, but it's a nice faint random noise, no patterns. I'm frankly astounded that this came from an iPhone X.

And you're clearly very good at editing, too. I don't often see colors this smooth in people's sunset photography, and I'm not sure I ever have from such an old phone. Did you shoot this as a RAW on the X? That's the only way I can imagine this having been possible.

I haven't even mentioned the composition, lighting, and subject matter, which are of course excellent. The building is lit beautifully even on its faces not directly illuminated by sunlight.

Not that I'm in a position to be able to judge others' work with any form of reputational credibility, but to the extent that I can issue them, please accept my enthusiastic kudos.

Thank you. :-)
I shoot Raw/Dng in Lightroom mobile app. This panorama is also a 7 portrait photos, stiched together in Ps

Ahh, the 7 portrait photos explain how there's so much beautiful data in this photo: 4x or so of the effective "sensor size" ;-D. The color literally looks like something I might get from my 7R4.

Fantastic stitch and work. Stay awesome!
