2.07 - "Needs Work"

Taken in the middle of winter and the wind blowing hard over the frozen farm hills of eastern Idaho. By far the coldest I’ve suffered for a photo but I’m so glad I did. I’d do it again in a second. What caught my eye at first when we were in the scene was the blowing snow lit up a beautiful orange. I wanted to compress the shot to get the hill in the distance, which is very far away when in person, and the layers of hills between with the blowing and glowing snow. I used a Nikon z7II and an adapted f mount 80-400 F4.5. The cool part is that this was the only colorful little section in the sky just as the sun was setting, and with all the clouds it made the sun look like a candle about to burn out for the night. This photo would look so good on a big print!
