1.31 - "Snap Shot"

image of a tourist in Austria, she gave her mother the camera to film her walk,
And when I tried to ask, she didn't mind that someone was taking a photo of her , and just continued to walk and film...
Adjustment, convert to black and white,
and highlights and shadows...

I can't see that there's a purpose for this picture. None of the individual people are connected in any way that creates a story. The main subject person is chopped in half and takes up such a small part of the frame that I can't understand what you thought was worthy of taking her picture. She's not doing anything of interest; she has no particular expression. As you alluded to, she's not at all interested in you as the photographer, so why should we be interested in her as the viewer?

You replied regarding this photograph in a different space: "Basically, the picture was to experiment with photography and understand more, the rest is irrelevant." And your down-vote leads me to believe that you disagree with my observation of the picture.

Not to sound mean, but this is a "Critique The Community" competition, and the score on your picture is about as low as they come, so virtually everyone feels there's plenty of room for improvement. But with that comes an opportunity to learn and improve your photography... if you're open to hearing the criticism. So in this context, while you experiment and try to understand more, the rest is not irrelevant, it is indeed relevant. The "rest" provides the framework for how we respond to your picture.

In this photo, the background elements overwhelm the main subject. Given the fact that the subject takes up such a small percentage of space in the image, the viewer is left to wander aimlessly through the picture and wonder what's the connection among all the elements. However, there does not appear to be any. That is the reason most pictures fall into the category of snapshot.

The photo is a snapshot, I had to stop and wait before I take the photo, this mean that in the time the composition change, and everything else, I didn't want to cut the left side of the image, and if it look better, I don't mind, I cant tell you, why I didn't take the photo fast and try to work the composition, but this is a nice snapshot, and she look nice, that what the image was for, I didn't add the image as a competition intent, just to share the image, if you follow the YouTube channel,
I added irrelevant, because some things, reasons, I cant write on the site,
don't get the wrong idea, if you want to critique, you can...
