Who It’s For:
This is a professional grade wide angle lens from Nikon and is one of the three lenses almost any professional photographer will have (along with the 24-70mm and 70-200mm) It’s expensive, but it’s built for heavy use and is optically brilliant.
What We Like:
Metal Housing: This thing can take abuse. I’ve owned one for 3 years and it’s been dunked in the Atlantic and taken a big hit on concrete from about 6 feet up. Optically it’s still perfect and I still use it every day.
One Touch Manual Overide: No need to touch the M/A button, you can automatically adjust focus by grabbing the focus ring.
Sharpness: This lens is tack sharp in the corners at every aperture in most conditions. Just don't point it directly into the sun at f/2.8 and expect miracles.
What We Don't
Price: The nearly $2,000 dollar price tag makes this lens something of an investment, but if you need it, and you know who you are, you won’t mind the price because this lens will not let you down.
