Here's one from the weekend. I nearly gave myself a hernia carrying all the equipment around, but thankfully I think it paid off. Just as the sun was begging to set, as I managed to grab the upcoming one-man-band, Sample Answer for a few shots. I had a very similar image in my head all day, but I was waiting for the right person to come along to help me realise it.
I like the cemetery in the background and the rim on his hair. Did you take other shots with the sun completely blocked by his hair? Without having the image you had in your mind, all I can do is imagine additional options. One shot I would like to try in this setting would be to have the sun blocked by his hair with strong rimlight all around his hair.
You did a good job of balancing the light for the background and on his face. One of the advantages of lugging gear around is the ability to control lighting. Great image.
