Lighting

Hello, I'm looking into buying some flash heads for my interior work I'm not sure which ones to buy.

profoto b1 500w...there seen to be the best but expensive

profoto b2 250w....are a bit cheaper read a few blog posts on them and people seem to say very positive things about them. Are they the same light quality?

Or buy some alien bees?

What do you think?

I guess it also depends on your budget, but do you really need strobes to light interiors? A bunch of small speedlights are more convenient, easier to move around, and cheaper.
But I'm not that experienced with interiors.

Hey Oliver, did you end up getting anything?

I use Alien Bees and they work great. I would strongly recommend something that can be run from battery power, in my case I use the vagabond mini lithium to be more mobile. Anything with a built-in, swappable battery would be even better. One of these I've heard good things about is the Rovelight, which is about $600. The B1's are great to work with, they have built-in receivers, and the transmitter allows you to control the light settings remotely. All that said, you don't truly need all these features, and you can make great photos with cheaper strobes.

Speedlights are nice for real estate shoots and small spaces, but they don't cut it for higher end shoots.
