Looks like the speedlight and beauty dish has been set up on the left by the drop of the shadow. I actually like this lighting though I personally would have setup some type of fill on the right so one could see his expression better and maybe even a highlight on wall.

My biggest criticism is the male subject and how claustrophobic it feels for the female with his shoulder and elbow right against her face. She is looking into the camera so we automatically engage with her first and also we tend to look from left and then we move onto the right and in this case, the male. For me, it feels like hitting a brick wall with the arm placement.

The tones are really nice and they look like a cool duo.

Thank you Greg, a second look at the image and i get what you mean. Looking from left to right, the male subject does not look engaging and also you get into an eye contact with the hand than the face. A second lighting would have done the trick.

I think that you've controlled the main light pretty well here and for a one light set up, you've got a fairly good result considering it's reaching out over two subjects.

As Greg mentioned though, a little fill lit on the right side of the image would have helped a lot. Even a reflector bouncing some light into the guys face would have taken this shot to another level and a reflector can be made from just about anything.

The poses are good but again, as mentioned they seem a bit close together and it doesn't hurt to leave some room to help the image breathe a bit.

I love the square crop, and if refined a little it would make a get album cover.

Matt you are spot on with your suggestion. How did i not think of a reflector? Hmmmm i guess i need to think outside the box. Also, i will take into consideration the spacing between the subjects.

Thanks guys, super awesome comments.

This looks fantastic. The only thing that I think could make it better would be to give it a "look" try something like alien skin.

Thanks Lee, I will definitely try it out and share the end results here. Much appreciated.

love it

Sorry I know you have better pix than this. This looks too "posed" to be a great shot. it has no POP to it. man's arm is encroaching on lady. Would like to see more eyes, face or 'something' to show expression and feeling. they don't have to be happy but they do need to be alive. Dull is a good description. BUT it is STILL a great shot with good lighting techniques. Good job but as I said This is not your best.

Thanks Dan. Your comments are well noted. Much appreciated.
