We got out of Las Vegas Sunday evening and drove 50 miles south into the Mojave Desert to photograph the Perseids. There was still a lot of dust and smoke in the air from the California wildfires, but I got a couple of OK shots. I set up two cameras (a Nikon D800 with the new Sigma 14-24 f/2.8 and a Sony A6300 with the Sigma 16 f/1.4) and sat back and enjoyed the show. The field of view on the D800 at 14 was much more successful in capturing a few meteors than the crop adjusted Sony.
