I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

look into a few other astro image processing applications you'll be surprised how much more you can get out of this there are more than a few people in here that could point you in the right direction
