I wanted to see how my 50 year old Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 s.s.c. would handle photographing both the Sun and the Moon.

I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

I'm a beginner too. What camera and settings did you use?
I used a Canon 77D and a 18-55mm.
The 1º une was with 18mm f/22 and shutter speed of 18 minutes.
The 2º what with 18mm f/11 and shutter speed of 8 minutes
Why such a high F? Usually astrophotographers use low F to let more light in. Have you tried using StarStax?
Well I'm a beginner, I did this without even reading anything first so I didn't use a StarStax (And I'm just now realising that that is).
I wanted to create that circular movimente with the stars and so closed the f and let the exposer during 8 minutes.
