The Sun and the Moon: Edited to add last photo
I wanted to see how my 50 year old Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 s.s.c. would handle photographing both the Sun and the Moon.

Sterling in silhouette
I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

Pretty dramatic photo. Clarity isn't everything.
I had about 30 minutes of eclipse before clouds blew in and provided their own much less interesting eclipse.
Nice image. Were you up by Lake Isabella? The snag makes me think of there, but I guess one can find bare trees everywhere in January.
I am a Kern Valley Bronc grad of 1977. I still go up there and shoot a couple times a month. Still feels like home but lost it all in the Erskine fire.
