The Sun and the Moon: Edited to add last photo
I wanted to see how my 50 year old Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 s.s.c. would handle photographing both the Sun and the Moon.

Sterling in silhouette
I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

Nicely done. I've been trying to get out and do some of these too, but the weather won't cooperate. What city do we see glowing on the horizon, if I my ask?
Thanks. That's Farmington New Mexico.
Jose, how did you get so close to the foreground here? were you using a mini tripod of sort? I am just wondering as i wouldn't think it would hold up well in the sand for a long period of time for long exposures. otherwise well done looks great. i would say adding a little light painting to the forground may have added a nice touch as well
They are close to the ground but these rocks are fairly big. around 3 ft (1m) high. Plus my tripod can get fairly close to the ground.
nicely composed
well done with the trails!
