Counting Stars

During summer I had the opportunity to try out the Nikon D750 with the kit lens (24-120mm) shooting the milky way, which was in a vertical orientation. Night sky photography is so special and so interesting. Next year, I hope to be able to capture the milky way at a less light polluted area.

Nice photo! Who says a kit lens is garbage?

Nobody! It's a very decent lens and using it with a star tracker you are able to stop it down about a stop for a much better performance!

I feel like I've been working with kit lens all my life!
Great shot tho, I'd crop in the photo so everything looks more symmetrical :)
Cheers!

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

Any interest in this group?

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
