Black and White Sports, powerful or dated?

My wife has always wanted to see a Rodeo, I wasn't too excited to go so I took my camera and took some photos. The images didn't really move me too much, until I thought " I wonder if the "DRAMA" that black and white can add will make them interesting. I was surprised that the medium added a vintage feel that looked more authentic than a modern vibrant punchy capture. Do you think that all sport photos would look more interesting shot in this medium or is it just making the subject look more artistic? I did a google search and the images presented seemed to me more iconic than modern. What do you think ?

I think black and white sports is definitely powerful. Dated, sure, but I think it adds a level of focus that is can get lost in modern, super dynamic photography.

All are excellent shots. Color would work, but not as dramatic or powerful as the black & white shown here. IMO, not all images/sports would have the same impact. It all depends on each individual's opinion.

I love black and white images. Maybe it's because I'm from the era of b/w film, but I find it to be more beautiful and engaging. Wonderful images. Thanks for sharing.

Not dated but great .
