The high contrast gives a sense of 'starkness', and considering the subjects facial expression, almost seems too strong. I'd ease off a bit and level out the tones a touch.
Thank you! I realized a while after I took and edited the photo like a month or two ago that it seemed a little off but I never did anything about it and just went with it. But now looking back at it I’m not a fan of it, but I still wanted to post to see any other people’s thoughts! Thank you again, I’ll definitely use this for future photos like this!
This is a good look if you are trying to portray either 'strong/macho' or 'sultry'. The contrast focuses the viewer on the profile of the subjects features. It's a good recipe to keep at hand, but this guy seems to need something just a little... softer :D
