yeah I'm struggling with composition lately I'm trying to work on it. i think what i need to start doing is scouting locations before hand and take test shots til i find a great shot
I don't know what color scheme you had going in the original photo, but I feel like the B&W makes the picture a bit more moody, and ghostly; giving it maybe a niche appeal.
I do like the B&W photo a bit more; the original picture kind of falls bland. To me it feels just like another foggy picture, but the black and white filter gives it a more moody feel to you, making it a step up in my book.
