Interesting subject, nice pose and composition, interesting b&w conversion, good mix of specular light but I'm wondering about the rectangular brighter spot on his neck altough it could easely be corrected in post. I would been curious to try a darker background to isolate more the subject, bring the specular light even more.
What caught my eyes are his eyes, especially the one on the left of the image. You went way too far with brightnening. Bring it down or removed your whitening completely, would be more natural to see catch light(s) in his eyes. Other than that you're on the right path to be a great portraitist.
