The Folly Beach Pier

My family and I decided to run away from home for the Thanksgiving holidays -- we're thankful we left the extended family behind, lol -- and spent our holiday at the beach in Charleston, SC. While we were there, I took a couple of mornings to photograph the Folly Beach Pier. The first morning was very cold, windy, and stormy. It gave the scene a dark and ominous feel, so I decided to use this as my first real attempt at black and white.

In your opinion, what could I do to make this image better? What would you change? Any CC is greatly appreciated!

Interesting image. I might have tried a shooting the scene with a slightly longer lens (28 or 35) and cropped out some of the ocean. I find the sky to be a bit more interesting. It appears that you were including some foreground interest in the lower left section of the print, however that area doesn't show much detail and it takes away from your image. I hope this helps - keep shooting
