I've been doing some experimenting with lighting to create old school Hollywood glamour-ish types of shots. Typically I'd use three lights; a key, hair/rim of some sort, and a background light. During the process of setting up the lights for this session I started with the key and took this shot.
I like the way it looks. Granted, I think the added dimension of a hair and/or background light is probably more appealing to me, but for a single light low key shot, this one looks okay. It gives it a real harsh lit, noir-ish feel.
