Ruth Carll's picture

15 years old and beautiful

There was a small photo shoot in the park yesterday. I was pretty far away shooting birds when her white dress caught my eye. I took these and wondered if you like one version over the other.

Thanks!

I personally like the first one. I like how the grit and texture of the background contrasts to her youth and innocence. It looks like she's even praying a little. And her dress is so pretty lol. All of that against the background, to me, adds some mystery and wonder. Great shot!

Thanks Jason! I appreciate you time and thoughts!

love the shot i did one of these for my daughter and now i can't find it to show you oh well...i messed with yours a little bit

Ah... a hybrid! thanks for the suggestion Joe!

landscapes and portrait i find easy that abstract stuffs got me goin nuts

I have hope for you! :)

Jason puts it well as far as I'm concerned, Ruth. The first has that initially mysterious-looking vegetation and wall, adding intrigue, given her dress, raising questions. I do like the (left-handed - I'm getting used to your way of seeing!) composition, those heavier branches balancing the girl, and leading the eye to explore the image. Well seen, as they say!

The second looks too contrived, and featureless shadows don't help. They draw my eye, looking for what's hiding there, only to frustrate.

Thanks for the feedback Chris!
