I like what you've done here, but I would have gone just a teeny bit further with the localized contrast to bring out the details in the rocks and highlight the path of the water as it winds through the image.
I reworked your color version as an example, though I don't have as much fine control with a low-res JPEG:

@Phillip, your little push at the edge always enhances the image story telling. here and earlier as well. However at my opinion, its softness of Josephs image and contract of your edit works together for this frame. Thanks
