Had the pleasure of hanging out with joe Cole the other morning, here's one from the Reservoir we shot at. Quiet, misty scene out there, this group of deadwood somehow stood out of the fog. I liked how this one fallen tree was like a 'strike-thru' to all of the other verticals.
[edit] I also saw this as almost two compositions: 1) the broken trees on the left and 2) the unbroken trees on the right. When setting up I wasn't in love with either side, so my idea was to try and marry or connect the two sides using the fallen tree and its angle.
One subtle aspect of this composition I also liked was the 'base' of the vertical trees (where the trunk hits the water) creates this nice up/ down zig zag my eye moves along. While I observed that, I started noticing a few 'triangular' shapes being created throughout this comp, anyone else see it?
Am I thinking too much? ha ha, CC and comments welcome.
really nice Joe its always good to use your brain and problem solve before you take your shot otherwise its just a waste of time ....i waste a lot of time....we'll have to get out there again when there's color
