Trying to step up

Morning all. I'm new to group and still looking around but I'm already impressed with such a high level of creativity and imagination of your photography guys.

FStoppers looks like a endless source of inspiration and information for me especially in black and white photography. I'm still trying to nail it and I hope I'm going in the right direction.

I like all three, Alex! You show excellent creativity & imagination yourself. Certainly going in a good direction!

The abstract effect in the second particularly appeals; you might like the "Minimalism, Abstract and Beyond" Fstoppers Group. This image would certainly be well-received there. How come there's that glow around some of the speakers?

To be picky, I'd crop or edit (reduce contrast?) the black-strapped figure at left in the first image, as it distracts a little from the subject. I'd also crop a little off the distracting head-rest at left in the dog image, or ideally have swung the camera slightly to the right, so the dog is looking into the space from the left a little more. But this is nit-picking, to tweak what are fine images! I hope to see more of your work.

First of all I would like to say thank you Chris for your kind words and honest opinion, it means a lot for me probably because I'm rarely satisfied with the results.

So that glow around the speaker you asking about was some kind of LED backlight. Here is the original shot.

Thought so! Was it a trade display? I thought the speakers might have lights, but looking up Vibe suggests not. Can't work out that background, and it's driving me crazy!

Hi Alex!

Nice work. Chris gave most of the feedback I would. Including 'head over to Minimalism, Abstract and Beyond" with number two!!

The last image here has so much potential. The dog is beautiful and you captured it's silhouette perfectly. I tend to like high drama images so I wanted to see what this would look like if you got rid of everything but his/her face. here's a stab. Just for fun. I like all of these.

:)

Thank you Ruth for your interest and attention. I will try your recommendations.
