May be it's just nothing special or not good for BW. it was bright green originally.
As Ruth says, Alex, the OOF branches mar this image. Also there is not enough contrast in the branches to give sufficient definition to the composition's horizontal elements, so it looks a little ill-defined and messy.
Hi Alex - First image is a 5 star for me. I'll be going straight to your portfolio after this. I hope it is there. The second image of the Blue Atlas Cedar is less successful for me mostly because of the two out of focus branches. Because of the conversion to black and white, the light blue of the needles lost something that would have given the image more depth. I'd be interested in seeing the color version in Landscape/Nature group.
Hey Alex, I really like the first one, has a bit of a dreamy character to it that seems to be drawing me in. Nice capture.
