This foggy morning created a other-worldly scene in Huber Woods. Here, the vine-covered trees and mist created a scene that a dinosaur could walk out of!
The layers of contrast and tones really pull you into the scene. I like the left right trees framing the scene and breaking the borders, they make a great heavy contrasting element to the the center tree which has an almost light and 'airy' feel to it.
I saw the pic, and guessed it was someone else, not you, Ruth! But then it calls to mind some of your inky images. I like it - the mist, the atmosphere, the all-critical composition. Good job!
What wonderful depth there is in this image. I agree with Joe's comments completely.
This is one image that proves that skies do not have to contain interest - in this case a detailed sky would definitely be counter-productive.
I especially love the way the one tree has been isolated by the mist and forms that depth through layers as Joe so expertly pointed out.
Love this shot. Great work!

The only thing missing is a T-Rex!

I wish I'd said that! Yes, that one tree looks as if it's snaked up through the mist, reaching tor the light..
I agree with Eddy, I love the surreal feeling of this image. I'm a 50s/60s sci-fi film buff and this looks like a scene from one of those films.
Wow! Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am so thankful!
Oh Ruth!!! I adore this photo! An image I'd love on my wall! Sooo much depth & emotion!
