Spent many a sweaty hour in the Quarter. Lived near there for 20+ years. I do miss it.
I would have preferred to have seen the lamppost shadow fall over the wall and not the door or between door and wall.
I have thought the same thing. Now that I look back, I am not sure why I didn't reposition myself, or perhaps wait a few minutes. Most likely, the sweat was stinging my eyes. Damn humidity!
