Though, not really the same shot, it brings out that flavor. I love to study film for photography work. It sucks that modern movies are laden with shots that have very little photography sense. The old masters knew how to do it.
Its a nice shot, perfect. The man in the distance makes the image feel almost like an impressionist painting. The off center dirt path in the foreground directs the eye well.
I believe having the man closer would have weakened the image here. There is a sense of mystery and a certain charm to having him in the distance.

Completely agree, cinematography seems to veered to the spectacle rather than depicting a narrative with images.

I agree, a lovely image but the description makes me wish for the man and his dog to be much closer.
