I shot this on Kodak Tri-X 400 B&W film and later converted it to digital in Elements. I was shooting in the fog along the Potomac River in Georgetown on a cold January day when I saw this image. I liked the soft light, the reflections and range of monochrome tones. The photo was chosen the Washington Post Weather Gang Photo of the Year in 2009.
A lot to like about this shot IMO. I agree the tones on and around the bridge provide a really nice feel to the composition. I may have been tempted to remove the branches on the left to keep a clean arc under the bridge.
