This was a test shot of a steel bench in the city with a new camera. I kind of liked the way the light came off the metal. While this wasn't my initial concept for the final photo, I really liked the minimalist outcome.
Fujifilm GFX50R, 50mm, f/8, 1/90, ISO200. Post processing in Capture One.
Good job, PK! You could post this in the "Minimalism, Abstract, Experimental" Group too. It would fit in very well. This image could go in your portfolio. It's strong.
A minor point of CC, since you've posted here - you haven't had the camera exactly centred, so there's a bit of perspective distortion which can't readily be removed in post. I've reduced it with a bit of fiddling - as you can see your watermark doesn't line up with the bench's centre now.
I always use the viewfinder grid with this kind of image, but it's still very hard to get just right. I don't mean to diminish your achievement here - it's a really good image in my view.
Hey Chris, thanks. Yeah, actually I had to retake this pic and was a bit rushed (there was a tram!), the previous was more centred and aligned correctly but there was a bit of motion blur. I'm having this printed to 50" as a kind of test and am really looking forwrd to seeing the final product.
Cheers, I will look at the group you mentioned.
