The first two images appeal to me here, Edwin, particularly the second because the water is more easily distinguished from the other, OOF, elements. The third for me lacks a structure or coherence the first two possess.

On this web page at least, they all lack a bit of sparkle for me which might convey more of the airiness of a fountain or any spraying water. So I would increase the highlight brightness in the spraying cone, a bit like the attached edit.

However, it's your vision, and your image, and I'm not suggesting you're "wrong" in any way.

Thanks for your comments Chris, much appreciated. I quite like the look of the first image as it reminds me of a maritini (my favourite tipple) glass, and I rather like the way it is slightly obscured, gives it a little sneaky naughty feel.

The last image is a heavy crop of waves crashing on a set of stairs from the river Thames. I liked this composition as it reminded me of the famous Japanese painting, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa".

The first two images were my first using the HDR output feature in LrC. They looked great on my screen during editing, but I didn't realise at the time that you could also adjust the image for SDR screens. I have to go back a re-edit them. Below is the straight SDR version (not adjusted for HDR).

Yes, that looks better to me, Edwin. I appredate your point about the "little sneaky naughty feel" in the first from reducing the distinction between the spray and other elements - an illustration of the point that it's your image and vision. I can see the appeal of this idea! Naughty boy!
