Kenny Kroeker's picture

Santa

This is definitely the wrong time of year to be posting this, but thought I would anyway.

All of these images were lightpainted in a driveway. The third image is the most "real". Everything was just like that, but in multiple exposures, except for the snow.

The other 2 were shot in the driveway and lightpainted, except for Santa, which was strobed in each photo. The wheels were each lifted and spun by hand and lightpainted individually to capture the motion. After the images of the car were shot, the background plates were shot as well, and the car was placed in place after all the lightpainting exposures were added.

The first image has one background plate, and motion was added to it to try and match the car's motion, which was supposed to be sideways, so the angle follows the front tire. The snow was all added, including the spray coming off the tires.

The second photo was basically the same process as the first, except that I changed out the sky to another photo that I had shot previously.

Beautiful. Wish I could hang this on my wall during the holidays.
