starting out on compositing

Hi all,

Over the lockdowns I have concentrated on learning to composite and wonder what people think and if there is any advice.

My aim is to make believable image of the characters, I had a couple of photographers miss the fact that some of my images are composites on smaller test prints but I not sure if they were just being kind.

Two and three definitely look composite. There is something about the edge of the model and blending with the background. I have no clue how to fix it but can only give my POV. The first shot is the better blend, it may be colours or lighting but you have to think on it a lot more than two and three.

Thank you, it is so good to get someone else's view. 1 screams out to me as composite more as I can see the last image has a way too low vanishing point.

With 2 and 3 it could be the lighting is slightly different on the model to the background. One of the problems with using photos not taken to composite.

You are welcome. I actively seek others views as the view of others helps me see the the truth of the work and as such learn.

I like your photography. I have been doing composites for about 5 yrs. I am no pro by any means, but will give my 2 cents. I find the dark hard edge of the subject tends to make it look fake. You could try a rendition with slightly softer look, not so deep and saturated colors.Try to reach for a look that is on the edge of a photography look to almost an illustrative look.
THANKS

Thank you
