Hi, trying to figure out how to create good composites. This is a new venture for me, and I started with this composite. Please help me learn how to become good at it, give me constructive criticism, I thank you in advance! :)
I just messed about with the photograph of a luscious, large green tree against a nice blue background with the clouds, but I decided that was boring, so this is what I did to it.
I'm going to be trying this again because I rather like the outcome of this on my lavender in the garden, which has finished for the summer now, so I couldn't go and do it again.
Glad I was already in my car before the heavens opened. It went incredibly dark, but it didn't last for very long, and the sun was soon out again.
I mostly shoot in colour keep in mind that I will make a black-and-white shot out of it.

Good start Marisa. I suggest that you look at the shadows . There is strong light falling from the top left . One would expect her right side (body) to be in shadow. The shadow on the ground looks unnatural. Have a look at the various options creating shadows in Photoshop. Also the light in her hands is tad bright - just tone it down a bit.
It is all in all a good start - just keep hacking at it and seat the details ! rgds
