Model Out of Water-Underwater CONTEST!

So what I have decided to do is go ahead and start the monthly contest. For the April contest the deadline will be May 15th. We will start another one on May 1st with a deadline of May 31. Essentially there will be an overlap the first two months but after that it will be on track.

THEME

So the first theme is Model Out of Water-Underwater. This theme is inspired by one of my favorite images that I have ever created. The reason it is a favorite is the simple fact that I wasn't sure if I could pull it off. However I did, and it has been a solid piece in my portfolio ever since.

RULES

1.Your main subject must be shot in studio, living room, location, etc. You can basically shoot them anywhere besides actually underwater. You then have to create a composite/manipulation that places the subject/model in a believable underwater scene.

2. Your main subject has to be a person, not an object.

3. Be creative.

You will be judged on creativity, believability, and execution.

Submissions must be posted on THIS thread by May 15th. Provide a before image(see below) of your model along with your final image.

this should be fun.

Hi Brandon, i am new in fstoppers , i am a photographer and portraid retoucher. This of manioulation is new for me. Do you konw about of a serie of video tutorials or a book? that is the best for begin in this type of retouch .
PD: sorry for the bad English

Check out composite videos on youtube. Phlearn is a great channel with lots of good advice!

Brandon, to clarify two of your comp requirements...
1. Can I use stock, stock that was studio shot, white BG etc?

2. You will be judged on creativity, believability, and execution. *On the believability. Are you saying believability as a result of the execution or the image final image itself, meaning no surreal pieces should be presented?

Thanks!

I don't mind if you use stock. Surreal is absolutely ok. When I say believability I'm meaning that it doesn't look like an obvious composite but rather resembles one image. Hope that helps!

Alright, thanks Brandon, just didn't have time to take any images I wanted to complete the challenge. BTW I was at Shot Show this year. I saw your TS work blown up like 20 feet high. I was excited to see my posters displayed there, but I was in your shadow! Good job!

Well sorry it's late, it's ok if it cant win, I'm not looking to win. I had some car issues I had to deal with but wanted to still post it anyway. Hope you guys like it.

Here is a sketch, photo and 3d made creature. The bubbles and water light was a digital painting.

New to this group and wish I would have known about this contest...will stay tuned for future contest announcements
