Rip me apart...

LoL... was trying to get people's attention, hope it did. This image below is one of my images that sent me to the "next level" in the direction I want to head... Fashion photography. While I know the skin looks overly edited but I am doing my fashion photography based on the trends of what the market (photo editors) are demanding and vast majority of what I've studied on fashion photography's trends. I do dabble in a lot of other areas, but my primary focus has been fashion since the start (5 years ago).

Good stuff Chris! If I had to critique here would be my notes:

- Straighten horizon, though I feel like you left it like this on purpose to help with models pose.

- Personally I feel like the shadows were opened up a bit too much and some mood was lost. I imagine with darker shadows it would enhance the mood and add a bit of contrast.

- I also feel like composition wise it would have been nice if the model wasnt centered but rather closer to the right of the frame, killing some of the foreground. The foreground is nice, but I feel like we have too much here and it almost has a sense of squeezing the model against the left side of the frame.

Those points aside, fantastic shot. Great skin tones. I love the cool tones in the fore/background and the pop of warmth from the model and dress. The pose is nice and relaxed as well. Great isolation and use of bokeh. Honestly, really great, and def a step into the next level!

Thank you Peter that means a lot coming from you and your level :-) !

I got a ton of shots, I did decide on this one though cause of the bokehlious I got from it most. I did have room to have her move to the right more but there was an open area so the foreground would cut a piece of her which can work as a different type of fashion shot like "looking out" type of fashion shot if you know what I mean? I just didn't feel comfortable to experiment in that level yet, I wanted to do as little in-camera cropping onto the model with some killer full body fashion shots. I know I got more to edit so hopefully I some more rules of third composition to show in this set (area and dress).

I wasn't sure about the cool environment and pop of warmth. I did ask some peers in some facebook groups, majority wasn't a fan, one like it a lot, so I went with my gut cause I liked it a lot when I saw it used in portrait work from another photog (in Russia I think?).

As for the shadows, not sure, I felt the darker (original) shadows felt was too dramatic, taking away of the sell and focal point of the shot which is the dress as my primary focus. Which I think I did succeed in making it the hero in the shot as you can see it is contrasting extremely well wouldn't you agree? ;-)

In second thought as I look at it, it is missing something, which is accessories to just add another interesting element as to me her hand (right of frame) feels a bit too boring and bland, wouldn't you agree? (I kinda critiqued myself there lol)
