I started using film cameras for my wedding and engagement portraits. How many of you mixing fil with digital?
This one was shot with Mamiya 645AFD II, 80mm f2.8 @f2.8
Cheers
I am now retired as wedding photographer Roman but did wedding for many years. I had a similar progression into weddings to you back in the 1970's. I shot all film until digital arrived. It probably took a couple of years to transition to all digital. I shpt film and digital while doing that and then used to take all my film cameras and film as backups for a while in case my digital camera failed. I used mainly 35mm when doing film weddings and sometimes mixed with medium format shot on a pentax 645. It's good that you are doing both. I looked at your website and your work and ethos is good.Testimonials are good. I used to get most of my bookings by word of mouth. I only went full time a couple of times and mainly maintained my day job.I did weddings from 1975 until last one in December 2017. I only did them sparingly over the last few years due to being older with aches and pains. Make the most of it while you are young.I would still be doing it if I had my youth back.Film is good in that it is very forgiving.I still believe I could shoot a whole wedding on film without consulting a light meter.Keep up the good work. I don'y know wheter you have picked up on using small stepladders. Here is a post on what I used to do. http://geoffthompsonsphotographytraining.blogspot.com/search/label/Using...
Thank you so much, means a lot to me! I have 35 mm canon 1v which I am using too and planning to continue with his set up.
You are right, film is very forgiving which makes it easier to shoot.
I experimented with film first time during this wedding on my blog: https://www.romancephotostudio.com/nanaksar-gurdwara-gursikh-temple-wedd...
Too bad the couple was in a rush and I was able to use only one roll, but I really loved it.
I will make sure to check your blog, thanks a lot!
