Hey guys,
So my wedding two wks ago, during bridal prep, I asked my bride where the dress was, so I could get dress shots.
She answered "in the basement, in the very back bedroom.
Not even kidding, a TINY DARK basement bedroom, with an accordion door, no windows,,,,,,and I wasn't allowed to take dress elsewhere.
I had to get creative,,,,,out came my OCF, light sphere, my assistant on her knees with arms up the dress holding flash.
I had an idea,,,, and I'm so happy with it. I actually teared up when I saw the shot on camera LCD
But I realize now,,,,,wish I would've straightened curtain behind dress

You did very well with what you had to work with.
That is why I never tried to judge wedding photography. There are just way too many uncontrollable situations unless you are covering the top 5% of the market. The other 95% get to deal with this kind of situation on a weekly basis.
