I think you've done a good job bringing more attention to the subject in the front, but I think the bottom is still a tad too dark. I can't really see much of the detail.
Also, and this might just be me, I'd get rid of the two big trees in the back that are going out of frame. I'd just feel a little more satisfied if they weren't going out. But again, that could just be me.
Overall, some nice work bringing more of a punch to the image.
Ps: what the heck is going on with all the spam in the other groups, it's gotten to the point where I can see anyone's pictures because you have to dig through all the spam.
Also - if the moderator of the other group is no longer active, no one is monitoring the group. I delete all those posts out of Minimalism, Abstract and Beyond.
Well, the mod of the landscape group is the editor in charge of the photo of the day, so I guess he’s just too busy to deal with it.
I wonder if they added one of those “I am not a robot” things in order to post a new discussion would slow them down. It would make it a little more frustrating to post, but at this point I’ve given up even checking that group, which is a shame.
Another site I belong to has a math problem In order to submit and they were funny. what's 1 + 2 or something easy but you had to answer to post. It was quick it worked. That would be a cool one for them to try.
Yeah I realized it after I posted it lost some definition transferring to jpeg and I will correct those things for sure ...the spam is absolutely getting worse it’s absolutely ridiculous
Hey Joe, what a great location. I like what you've done with this. Like Jordan I think a touch more shadow detail in the foreground would really elevate this
Hi. in 2nd frame the bright spot in the sky delighted me for the possibility and probable mood of the frame. choice of foreground and background subjects in making the composition is also interesting to me. Rest experts have already expressed.

Agree with your feedback.

I didn’t realize we handled those issues I thought it was on the fstoppers crew
they do but we can also delete any posts in our group and I tend to get rid of those if I see them.

Deleting all those posts is much appreciated, Ruth. What a plague!

Hey Joe - I love the exposure in the first one but the color of the second. This is beautiful!!! The dead trees at the Reservoir are so dramatic.
:)
Thanks Ruth you hopefully you can get out with us next time
I am looking forward to a night/dawn shoot. Just give me 24 hours notice.
