We had an ice storm last week and while the obvious choice would be to try landscapes with trees I decided to stay off the roads and shoot in my backyard. Some of these images I think qualify as minimalist, a couple perhaps abstract. Either way it was fun getting the camera out after a long hiatus.
Thanks for posting Michael, and kudos or getting out there and braving the cold.
With these I thinks it's really nice to see the little pops of color in #1 & #4 that take us away from the monochromatic snow. I also think that the turquoise-ish toning in #4 complements the subject an gives a sense of coldness.
Please don't worry about having to fit work into specific MAE genres - I look at ALL work as being Experimental so we're open to all ideas.
Good work and good idea, Michael. I like all of these - especially that first one. I am in one of those long hiatuses myself. I need to get out and take photos, but feeling a lack of inspiration.
Thanks for the comments. Since Alan said don't worry about genres I thought I would post this, perhaps my favorite from the outing.
Hang in there Jennifer, I've been uninspired for most of 2024. Somethings can't be rushed but hoping just shooting will spark something .
Thank you, Michael .... This one is really neat. They look tell a story of being trapped!
They are great shots, Michael! No 1 &4 are my favorites, they show a bit more. 2 appears a bit chaotic for me. Maybe color helps me to distinguish.
These are fabulous. I love the look of glaze on foliage.
