Inclement Weather

As you have seen (or will see), January doesn't have inclement in our area...it's always calm before the storm.

I had to do a archive dive to find anything that fit.

A nice magnificent Oak tree in our backyard on January 12, 2017. Our backyard just happens to be a private gold course. No, I don't golf. It was one of exceptions to the Nice January rule. The snow probably lasted 2 days.

The second photo was taken at Fernhill Wetlands and it was raining. It was raining so much that a block away from the entrance the highway was officially closed due to flooding. I parked my car and waded in to snap this soggy Great Blue Heron. January 2022.

The third is an attempt to capture the morning sunrise shining on Mt Adams we check the forecast, promising, for out 200 mile Zero Dark Thirty departure. 34°F and very heavy fog. I insisted on capturing at least something, and here it is. December 2023.

The fourth image is Mt Adams about 100 mile closer to town and 3.5 hours later. The low clouds were playing havoc with the composition and lighting. December 2023.

This 10 second selfie was at Diamond Lake, Oregon, just North of Crater Lake. It was quite an interesting evening. There was fog rising off the water and fog settling in from above when it starting to snow. It was 34°.

These are in chronological order and it is easy to see how my eye has changed in regards to snapping photos.

FANTASTIC photos, Dean. Great composition in each.

The second and last ones stand out for me.

My favorites of the bunch as well.

Great set Dean. I think the last one tells such a powerful story, leaving the viewer asking questions.
