Taking & Posting Holga Photos From Now On

Because I'm not talented enough to post process my images nor do I want to, there's no way my images can compete with other on Fstopers with all their post processing and because I've already explored the Holga 120n toy camera with the Kodak tri-X 400 film, I found it to be very challenging and often difficult to load the camera, take the photos, unload the camera and have the film sent out. There's been several times I've destroyed entire rolls of film because my hands aren't able to manipulate these small parts on the camera. As for my Canon M6, I've never adjusted anything and shoot mainly in auto mode or what the camera feels is best for the shot.

I wanted to get back into being able to use the focus ring and the small 60mm holga lens will allow me to do that. with a few basic adjustments. So this week i'll be ordering the Holga 60mm C lens for my Canon M6. I'm striving for more an artsy approach to my photography then trying to compete with those who are better than I at post processing.. You can't get any more real than just taking a photo of what you see with a holga 60mm lens.

So again, I'm asking that someone/anyone here create a Holga community because I'm not able to do so..

I'm sorry for your dilemma, Johnny. I hope you're able to find a way to get a Holga group going. It is an excellent idea. Also a non-processing group would be a good idea too.

Thanks for posting Johnny, and I feel for the numerous frustrations you face.

NEVER feel you are "not talented enough" to post your work. Speaking for this group we are a mixed bunch that consistently helps pick up others. Our members remain positive on the whole and appreciate the efforts of others.

Should you remain comfortable with posting work, we always appreciate comments from all (no there NO such thing as a wrong opinion) and would love to hear your voice.

If you still want to pursue a Holga group creation and are unable to do so yourself I would contact Alex Cooke (from his profile page). You can contact admins etc from the contact link (on footer), but Alex has always been the one that has responded and helped make changes for me.

If that fails, we would LOVE to see your Holga work here, as it is some we are unfamiliar with (experimental??)

Hi Johnny. Remember that Minimalist, Abstract, or Experimental has nothing to do with postprocessing.

Neither does Creativity!

The Fstopper Community rates many of my images as: ⭐⭐ 2 Stars - Needs Work. I don't worry about it as I am not a professional and my livelihood isn't dependent my photographic skills. I classify myself as a Serious Hobbyist, which I take to mean it's a hobby with expensive gear.

Also remember while "Manual" is a camera setting, so is "Auto".

Be sure to post your Adventures in this group.

Well said Dean.
I feel that fstoppers is a platform for photographers to post work that reflects who they are as artists.

Forget the ratings - there are many out there with tastes that differ to our own, and perhaps even those rating to best suit a personal agenda.

The main thing for me is to post work that shows the world who you are as an individual.
