Bored in a Car

Had a long drive to the airport as a back seat passenger to pick up family a few days ago. After awhile of nothing to do, I remembered Alan's comment on Andrew's post with a link to Julianne Kost's 'Passenger Seat' and Cole Thompson's 'Trees from a Train' - links below. Some of these were taken while driving and others while parked. Some are of intentional motion and others are of driving motion. All were taken through the truck window, and all were taken using my Samsung PHONE! That was something different for me because, while inspired by Alan's blog posts, I just haven't gotten the chance to start using my phone camera consistently. This may be a start? Anyway, these are all for fun and experimental.

The more I'm a passenger the more I find how many interesting things I missed because I had to concentrate on my driving and needed to get somewhere.

I like the moodiness of your photos. Did you used Pro mode and adjust from there? Any in-camera postprocessing?

Being bored is when I get more creative...and in trouble.

I have fun experimenting with panoramas while in a moving vehicle. I have discovered that going under an overpass makes the most interesting...for me.

Perhaps that could be the February Challenge?

I like them all. Well done.

I love these Jenny. My favorites are the ones containing trees - they have such a mysterious and foreboding vibe to them. Very atmospheric!
I also enjoy the fact that these are (or seem to be) taken later in the day, with the light fading. That certainly adds to the effect.

I tried taking shots when moving in a car in the past myself, using a long shutter trying to maintain focus on a single tree etc. These showed promise and something I have meant to get back to (except I'm the one typically driving......). Thanks for the inspiration to try tat again.
