Using a Phone as Liveview Monitor + Remote shutter

Hello folks!

I am currently in a bit of a pickle. I will be shooting some video, along with doing some self-portraits. I'm shooting with a D800, and I need a way to see what I am doing, in front of the camera, so I had the thought of using my phone as a kind of external monitor. This is pretty straightforward, I have my phone connected to my D800 via USB. There's plenty of apps that allow you to connect your phone to the camera and get live-view.
This is where my issues come in.

I also have a wireless remote shutter reciever connected to my D800 via DCo cable, whch is triggered by my transmitter that  I have in my hand.
The remote works great, however it doesn't work when live view is running on my phone. As soon as I disable live view on the phone, the transmitter works great. So while my setup does help a bit, it's not quite where I need it to be.

Does anyone have a workaround solution for me here? Hope all this made sense.

Thank you!
