The cave

Hi!

This is my first post in the community. This is my new work, the cave.
In this project, i would to talk about motherhood. I started with the allegory of the cave, this dark room in which a single opening brings light and shadows that the "prisoners" interpret.
The butterflies that invite each other symbolize the two children of this young woman who change her daily life and invite her to evolve towards a new version of herself.
This is the first project where I take a portrait from above and experience the difficulties of deformations linked to the angle of view.

For the setup : I use a stripbox on the left with a grid as Key light, because i would to simulate a door or an opening in a dark cave or room. And on a boom light just near my camera above the girl an umbrella for fill light. I think i pushed a bit too much the fill because the right part of the face wasn't has much lighted at beginning. And my first aim was to have a dramatic split light. But i love the result.
