I do love extract some pieces of landscape. To me it's about like keeping the most interesting parts of a landscape.
Here is the cliff of Etretat,, so-calledd in french "Porte d'Aval". A famous marine arch as high as 30 or 40 m in height (inside the arch, more than 50m with the above vault).
I focused the camera on the cliff and started a long time exposure to obtain the softness of both the sea and clouds. The white and back strata in cliff enhance the the horizon line because of parallelism.
Perhaprs, I may crop a little the base of the photography to lower the landform and and the horizon line from the bordure of the photography.
Here is an address for you to observe the original landform

Hope you like my version....

Hi David! This is beautiful! The tones are perfect and the water is lovely. I like the first image much more than the crop. There is slight texture to the water that provides a sense of motion that I think is needed. I also think that the sky/subject balance is better in the first image. I'd be thrilled if I took the great shot. Well done!
Thank you so much for jour feedback. And bravo to have opened a group devoted to minimalist photography.
