Sandra McCabe's picture

Upwards

This is the ceiling in a shopping centre in Singapore. Instead of shopping I ended up with a stiff neck from just admiring the ceiling. I've had a go at changing it to black and white.

The picture has really much depth. It's a stark contrast to your other work, but it's working well. There is some lens distortion, but it helps in my opinion, to give the picture a little more depth.

Many thanks !!!!

Nice Sandra! very different from your typical work. Love this lines. Lighting is great. It has the feeling of an optical illusion. I like it!

Thanks heaps Ruth 🙂

I like it, but unlike Gion-Andri, I don’t think the slight distortions add to the image. For a technical image like this, the lines need to be perfectly vertical and horizontal, or way more than just a degree or two off of square. To me, this is like a landscape with a horizon just slightly unlevel: maddening. I think if you tried to sell it as is, you’d find most people would feel it’s just a little unprofessional-looking due to the lack of precision. Any software with perspective correction tools can fix it.

Now, rotate it forty degrees in any direction and all this goes out the window. 😊
