This image was something I spent a lot of time preparing for and organizing. I'm trying to step up the level of detail I use when shooting images like this.
Let me know your opinions. Any comment is welcome.
This is really well done. The image has story. I looked and the drawing and even tried to read the writing! It had me hooked into spending time checking it out. Success!
It is also technically well done. You have nice darks and lights without losing anything at each extreme. Good DOF.
So, my friends call me Ms Picky sometimes so bear with me on this. The only feedback I have is.... his hands look wet. It catches me eye each time I look at it. It makes me wonder if this is a man or a manikin. I would take a brush tool and tone down the shine on his thumb, it not the other fingers as well.
Now, if I get that picky then this is a GREAT shot!
I really love the work by Ilya Nodia. I guess you may have already seen some of his work here on Fstoppers. I got some of my inspiration from him as well.
Funny, I just analyzed this image before reading other comments (as I try to do to prevent influence) and come up with the same concern as Ruth.
I think this is a wonderful image. I love the composition and color tone. I think the image is very well crafted, with all the elements working together to create the story.
The one negative that does detract. On first viewing I thought it was just the highlights, but as Ruth points out they look almost wet, or oily.
Overall a wonderful image - definitely a winner if you can get the hands sorted out.
I'm actually glad to hear that you have the same opinion. I feel more confident that I need to change it with multiple people coming to the same consensus.

Nicely done!
Thanks, I'm glad that the change isn't difficult to do. I can probably fix that without much trouble.
Only do it if you agree! I really do think you did a great job here.
